Adjusting to PAP Therapy

Sleeping Comfortably

Just remember:

  • To receive maximum benefit and ensure your insurance will pay, you need to use your PAP device 4-6 hours per night/sleep session for the first 90 days of therapy.
  • PAP therapy must be worn/used during sleep to be effective. It is important to commit to using your therapy every time you sleep to help you establish a new routine of sleeping. Many people report taking a few days to get used to therapy, but most all report that once they get acclimated to it, they feel so much better that they don’t ever want to sleep without it.
  • Some people adapt to therapy right away, and others take a little more time to get used to it. If you have any struggles or need any assistance with your new therapy, the MSC Sleep Support and Compliance Team is here to help you. You can reach us at 866-90SLEEP (866-907-5337).

In addition to these tips, the following educational materials will help you gain a better understanding of sleep apnea and prepare you for successful use of CPAP/BiLevel therapy.
